Statement of Faith
Solomon For Jesus stands on the truth that there is one true and living God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the Sustainer of life, and the Lord over all creation. He is holy, eternal, all-knowing, all-powerful, righteous, merciful, and perfect in every way. The one God has eternally revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He reigns with wisdom and sovereign authority, and all things exist for His glory.

The foundation for Solomon’s answers is the Holy Bible. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are God’s inspired Word, written through human authors under His authority. The Bible is true and trustworthy, without error, and sufficient to reveal the way of salvation. It is the final authority for what Solomon teaches concerning God, mankind, sin, salvation, truth, wisdom, morality, and eternal life.

We confess that human beings are not accidents of nature. God created mankind in His own image, male and female, with dignity, moral responsibility, and eternal significance. Yet mankind has fallen into sin. Adam and Eve disobeyed God, and sin entered the human race. Every person has sinned, stands guilty before a Holy God, and cannot rescue himself by effort, goodness, religion, or human wisdom.
The hope of mankind is Jesus Christ. He is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, revealed the Father perfectly, fulfilled the promises of Scripture, and is the only Savior given for sinners. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, truly died, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

At the cross, Jesus Christ gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin. He stood in the place of sinners, bore the judgment sin deserves, and shed His blood so that forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life could be given by grace. His resurrection declares His victory over sin, death, and the grave. Salvation is found in Christ alone and is received by God’s grace through repentance and faith, not by human merit or works.

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively at work in the world. He glorifies Jesus Christ, convicts people of sin, brings sinners to new birth, and unites believers with Christ. He dwells within God’s people, teaches them, guides them, strengthens them, gives spiritual gifts, produces Christlike character, and empowers them to live faithfully before the Lord.

We believe Jesus Christ will return personally, bodily, visibly, and gloriously. The day and hour are known only to God, but His return is certain. Until that day, believers are called to watchfulness, holiness, courage, endurance, prayer, love, witness, and faithful service.

Because the Gospel is true, every person is called to respond. God commands all people everywhere to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who reject Christ remain under condemnation. Those who receive Him by faith are forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and given eternal life. God will raise the dead and judge the world in righteousness. The unbeliever will face eternal conscious punishment, and the believer will enter everlasting joy with the Lord in the new heaven and the new earth.

There Is Still Time
One day as I napped after a hard day’s work, I was given a vision.
In it, scenes from my life were vivid and relentless. As each scene scrolled through my mind I grew restless.
As the vision continued, I realized I had been quite successful in life.
I had accumulated some things and had suffered no loss of children or wife.
I had it all, comfort, possessions, family, friends and the respect of the world.
Then I noticed the one, who many years before, had promised me a good life, full and satisfying. However, he had a different appearance from then, somehow aged and repulsive.
Then I noticed I was standing on the brink of a huge smoldering pit.
The fire was unquenchable and smelled horrible, as with the souls of many people.
The one whom I had served told me, it is time, you must jump in.
From the other side of the pit, I heard a still small voice.
I saw one standing there dressed in a brilliant white robe, hand out-stretched.
“There is still time” he said. You now see the lies of your father; your destiny is still yours.
Just then, the one I had followed charged straight at me as to push me over the brink into the only hell I would have ever known.
As I tumbled head over heels into the abyss, I suddenly, awoke.
These words were now scrolling through my mind, “For God so Loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.
There had been one reaching out to me (that I had ignored) as I walked through my life. Oh Lord, I thank you for rescuing me from the father of lies, from my arrogant and prideful heart.
Thank You Lord for pursuing me, for Loving me, for Patience and Grace.

but the living Lord Jesus Christ through the truth of the Gospel.
Reveal to them that You are holy,

Open their eyes to the hope found in Christ alone.
Give them the courage to come to Him in repentance and faith,
and write their names in the Book of Life
according to Your grace and mercy.
Use me only as Your servant.
Guard my heart from pride and self-promotion.
If anything here accomplishes eternal good,
may all glory belong to You alone.

She sat in her car outside the church long after the service had begun.
For years, someone who claimed to love her had controlled her with fear,
shame, threats, and words from the Bible twisted into weapons. She had
finally left. She was safe now, at least physically, but the questions
had followed her.
People told her she needed to forgive. Did that mean she had to go back?
Did forgiveness mean pretending it had not been that bad? Was she wrong
to still feel angry?

Why Jesus Christ Matters
Most people do not begin the day thinking about eternity. They wake up,
go to work, pay bills, care for family, solve problems, and try to make
it through another week. Life keeps moving, and the deepest questions
are easy to postpone.
But they do not go away.
Why am I here? What has gone wrong with the world? What has gone wrong
inside me? Is there a God who knows me? Can I be forgiven? What happens
when this life ends?
Jesus Christ matters because He stands at the center of every one of
those questions.
The Bible does not present Jesus merely as a wise teacher, a religious
reformer, or a good man whose example we should admire. It declares that
He is the eternal Son of God who entered the world He created.
“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made
that was made.”
John 1:3, NKJV
The One who walked the dusty roads of Galilee is the One through whom
the stars were formed. He knew hunger, weariness, sorrow, rejection, and
pain, yet He never ceased to be Lord. Jesus matters because God did not
remain distant from our suffering. He came near.
And He came for a reason.
Our greatest problem is not simply that life is difficult or that the
world is unfair. Our deepest problem is sin. We have turned from God,
chosen our own way, and failed to love Him and one another as we should.
Scripture says plainly:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23, NKJV
That includes respectable people and ruined people, religious people
and skeptical people, the outwardly successful and the openly broken.
We may hide our guilt from neighbors, family, and even ourselves, but we
cannot hide it from God.
Yet Jesus did not come merely to expose our sin. He came to save us from
it.
He lived the righteous life we have not lived. He showed mercy to the
ashamed, touched those others avoided, welcomed repentant sinners,
confronted proud hearts, and spoke truth without fear. Then He willingly
went to the cross.
There, Jesus took upon Himself the judgment sinners deserved.
“Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3, NKJV
The cross was not an unfortunate ending to an otherwise inspiring life.
It was the mission. Jesus stood in the place of guilty people. The
sinless Son of God bore sin so that sinners could be forgiven, cleansed,
and reconciled to God.
But the cross was not the end.
On the third day, Jesus rose bodily from the grave. Death could not hold
Him. The tomb was opened, the stone was rolled away, and the risen
Christ appeared to His followers. His resurrection was God’s declaration
that the sacrifice had been accepted and that death itself had been
defeated.
Jesus matters because He is alive.
He is not merely a memory from ancient history. He reigns now. He hears
prayer now. He forgives now. He changes lives now. He gives peace to the
guilty, hope to the grieving, strength to the weary, and eternal life to
those who trust Him.
And this is where the question becomes personal.
It is possible to know facts about Jesus and still refuse Him. It is
possible to admire His teachings while keeping Him at a safe distance.
It is possible to attend church, own a Bible, and speak religious
language without ever surrendering to Christ.
Jesus did not say, “Consider Me when convenient.” He said:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through Me.”
John 14:6, NKJV
That claim leaves no room for treating Him as one spiritual option among
many. If Jesus is who He said He is, then no decision matters more than
what you do with Him.
Your achievements cannot erase your sin. Your good intentions cannot
conquer death. Religion cannot manufacture eternal life. Money cannot
purchase peace with God. Time will not make the question disappear.
But Jesus can save you.
He invites you to turn from sin, stop trusting in yourself, and place
your faith in Him. Salvation is not earned by becoming good enough. It
is received by grace through faith in the crucified and risen Christ.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”
Acts 16:31, NKJV
Jesus matters because without Him we remain separated from God, guilty
in our sin, and unprepared for eternity.
Jesus matters because He loved sinners enough to die in their place.
Jesus matters because He rose from the dead.
Jesus matters because He is Lord.
And Jesus matters because, right now, He is calling you to come.
Do not wait for a better time, a cleaner past, or a more convenient
moment. Come to Christ as you are. Ask Solomon 2.0, “How can I be saved?”
What Is the Gospel?
The Gospel is often reduced to a slogan because its words are familiar.
But familiar words can conceal an earthshaking truth.
The Gospel is not advice about how people might climb their way to God.
It is the announcement that God came down to rescue people who could
not save themselves.
Humanity’s separation from God is real. Our attempts to repair it are
powerless. God Himself has crossed the distance in Jesus Christ.
That is the Gospel.
Something Has Gone Terribly Wrong
We do not need to be theologians to recognize that the world is not as
it should be.
We see cruelty, betrayal, injustice, disease, grief, loneliness, aging,
and death. We watch nations rage against nations. Families fracture.
People wound one another, sometimes deliberately and sometimes through
selfishness, carelessness, or pride.
We feel the fracture within ourselves as well.
We know what it is to regret words we cannot retrieve. We make promises
and break them. We recognize what is right, yet still choose what is
wrong. Even our finest moments are mixed with motives we would rather
not examine too closely.
Something has gone wrong with the world, and something has gone wrong
within us.
The Bible calls that condition sin.
Sin is more than violating a list of religious rules. It is humanity
turning away from its Creator and attempting to live independently of
Him. It is the creature saying to the Creator, in countless ways, “I
will decide for myself what is good, what is true, and how my life
should be lived.”
Sin separates us from the holy God who gave us life.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23, NKJV
We Are Not Only Victims
It is easier to see the evil done to us than the evil that passes
through us.
We may blame our upbringing, circumstances, culture, temptations, or the
failures of others. Those things can wound us deeply and shape our lives
powerfully. But none of them fully removes our responsibility before
God.
Human beings are victims of a broken world, but we are also participants
in its brokenness.
The darkness is not found only in dictators, criminals, or distant
societies. It appears in ordinary hearts through envy, dishonesty, lust,
hatred, greed, arrogance, bitterness, and indifference.
The Gospel begins with honesty.
We cannot understand the greatness of rescue until we understand the
reality of the danger.
We Cannot Repair the Separation
Most people try, in one way or another, to make themselves acceptable.
Some attempt it through religion. Others through charity, morality,
success, knowledge, political causes, personal discipline, or simply
trying to be better than the people around them.
Good works matter. Kindness matters. Justice matters. Obedience matters.
But none of these can erase guilt or make a sinful person holy before
God.
A person may polish the outside of life while remaining separated from
God within.
We cannot undo yesterday’s sin by behaving better tomorrow. We cannot
repay an infinite moral debt with a collection of finite good deeds. We
cannot climb high enough, work hard enough, become religious enough, or
reinvent ourselves thoroughly enough to reach God.
The distance is not measured in miles.
It is moral and spiritual.
And we are powerless to cross it.
God Crossed the Distance
This is where the Gospel becomes good news.
God did not abandon humanity to its rebellion. He did not merely send
another teacher, philosopher, prophet, or moral reformer. He came to us
in Jesus Christ.
The eternal Son of God entered the human condition. Jesus lived among
the people He had created. He experienced hunger, exhaustion, rejection,
sorrow, temptation, suffering, and death—yet He remained without sin.
He did what we could not do.
Then He willingly went to the cross.
The cross was not an unfortunate ending to a promising life. It was the
purpose for which He came. Jesus bore the judgment sinners deserved. He
stood in the place of the guilty and gave His life as the sacrifice for
sin.
God’s justice was not ignored. His holiness was not compromised. Sin was
judged, and mercy was offered.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were
still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8, NKJV
The Gospel is not the story of humanity finally finding a path upward.
It is the story of God coming down.
He Was Doing This for You
It is easy to look at the cross as an event from long ago—something that
happened to Jesus in another place, among another people, in another
time.
But the cross was not distant from you.
Imagine Jesus raising His head beneath the crushing weight of His
suffering. Through the blood, the pain, and the anguish, His piercing
eyes look beyond the soldiers, beyond the mocking crowd, and beyond
Jerusalem.
He peers through all of history—past, present, and future.
His eyes focus upon every person who has ever lived and every person who
ever will.
And then they focus upon you.
It is as though Jesus is saying:
“I AM doing this for you! Please do not let My pain and anguish go
unheeded. Love Me. Trust Me. Trust Me alone!”
The cross was not an impersonal payment made for a faceless mass of
humanity. Jesus knew exactly whom He was dying to save.
He saw every failure.
Every betrayal.
Every hidden sin.
Every broken promise.
Every act of selfishness, rebellion, cruelty, and unbelief.
He saw the worst in us—and He continued toward the cross.
The nails were real.
The wounds were real.
The humiliation was real.
The anguish was real.
And His love was real.
Then, as Jesus hung upon the cross, the world went dark.
The sinless Son of God was carrying the accumulated guilt of humanity.
Every sin of the past, every sin being committed at that very moment,
and every sin that would ever be committed was placed upon Him.
Father God accepted the offering of Jesus Christ as enough to pay for
all sin for all time.
But God is holy. He cannot dwell in the presence of sin. And as Jesus
bore the full weight of humanity’s sin, the Father had to turn His back
upon His Son.
For the first time in all eternity, Jesus was literally alone.
The One who had always known the perfect presence of His Father could no
longer sense Him at His side.
Out of that unbearable darkness, Jesus cried:
“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Matthew 27:46, NKJV
Consider how terrifying that must have been for our King.
The physical torture was horrific. His body had been beaten, torn,
pierced, and nailed to wood. Breathing required agony. The people He
came to save mocked Him as He died.
But now there was something even more terrible.
His Father had turned away.
Jesus stood alone beneath the entire judgment of God against sin.
He could have ended it.
He had already said that He could call upon His Father and more than
twelve legions of angels would come to Him. Heaven’s armies stood ready.
At one word from their King, they could have descended upon those who
mocked, beat, and crucified Him.
And who could have blamed Him?
Who could have blamed Jesus if He had finally said, “Enough”?
Who could have blamed Him if He had called the angels, shattered the
cross, destroyed His tormentors, and returned to the glory of heaven?
But He did not.
Even the darkness could not bend our Savior’s will.
Even abandonment could not defeat His purpose.
Even the terror of standing alone beneath the judgment for every human
sin could not cause Him to turn away.
Jesus looked straight ahead into all eternity.
He saw the people His sacrifice would save.
He saw sinners forgiven.
He saw the guilty made clean.
He saw the lost brought home.
He saw broken lives restored.
He saw men, women, and children from every tribe, language, people, and
nation standing before His throne.
He saw you.
And Jesus decided:
“You are worth it.”
Not because you were innocent.
Not because you had earned His mercy.
Not because you deserved the price He was paying.
You were worth it because He chose to love you with a love greater than
your sin, stronger than death, and more determined than all the powers
of hell.
So He remained upon the cross.
He did not call the angels.
He did not turn away.
He did not quit.
He endured the nails.
He endured the darkness.
He endured the loneliness.
He endured the full judgment for sin.
And when the price had been completely paid, Jesus declared:
“It is finished!”
What a Savior. What a King. What a Hero we have in Jesus Christ!
The Resurrection Changes Everything
If Jesus had remained in the grave, there would be no Gospel.
But on the third day, He rose bodily from the dead.
The resurrection was God’s declaration that Christ’s sacrifice was
accepted, death had been defeated, and the reign of sin would not have
the final word.
Jesus Christ is not merely a figure from history whose teachings
survived Him. He is alive. He reigns. He saves.
Because He lives, forgiveness is real.
Because He lives, reconciliation with God is possible.
Because He lives, death is not the end for those who belong to Him.
Because He lives, hope is not wishful thinking.
It rests upon an empty tomb.
The Gospel Is News Before It Is Advice
Religion often begins with instruction:
Do this. Avoid that. Improve yourself. Perform the ceremony. Follow the
rules. Prove your worth. Perhaps then you will be accepted.
The Gospel begins with an announcement:
Christ has come.
Christ has died.
Christ has risen.
The work of salvation has been accomplished.
This does not mean that the Gospel makes no demands. It calls every
person to repent and believe. But repentance and faith are not payments
offered to God. They do not purchase salvation.
They are the empty hands that receive what Christ has already provided.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8, NKJV
Salvation is not a reward for the respectable.
It is grace for the guilty.
More Than Escaping Judgment
The Gospel is sometimes presented only as a way to avoid hell.
Deliverance from judgment is certainly part of its promise, but the
Gospel offers far more than escape.
Through Jesus Christ, sinners are forgiven and reconciled to God.
Those who trust Him are adopted into God’s family. They receive the Holy
Spirit. Their lives are given a new direction. They begin learning to
love what God loves, reject what once ruled them, forgive as they have
been forgiven, and live as citizens of Christ’s kingdom.
This transformation is not completed instantly. Christians still
struggle, stumble, repent, and grow. But they no longer face life alone,
and they no longer belong to the darkness from which they were rescued.
The Gospel restores what sin destroyed.
Peace with God.
A cleansed conscience.
A new identity.
A living hope.
A future resurrection.
Eternal life in the presence of Christ.
The Gospel Demands an Answer
News of this magnitude cannot remain merely interesting.
Jesus did not come simply to provide inspiration, improve society, or
add a spiritual dimension to otherwise unchanged lives. He came to seek
and save the lost.
The Gospel confronts every person with a decision.
Will we continue trusting ourselves, defending our sin, and living apart
from the God who made us?
Or will we turn to Jesus Christ in repentance and faith?
The Gospel does not ask us to pretend that we are better than we are.
It asks us to admit that we cannot save ourselves.
It does not promise that religious effort will make us worthy.
It declares that Christ is worthy and that His grace is sufficient.
It does not tell us to cross the distance to God.
It announces that God has crossed the distance to us.
That is why the Gospel is good news.
Humanity’s separation from God is real. Our attempts to repair it are
powerless. But God Himself has come near in Jesus Christ.
He died for sinners.
He rose from the dead.
He offers forgiveness, reconciliation, new life, and eternal hope to all
who repent and believe.
The distance has been crossed.
The way home is open.
And His name is Jesus Christ.

Who Is Jesus Christ?
Most people have heard the name Jesus.
Some know Him as the child in the manger. Others think of Him as a great
teacher, a miracle worker, or a moral example. Some respect Him while
keeping Him at a distance. Others have rejected a version of Jesus they
were never properly taught in the first place.
But the question remains:
Who is Jesus Christ?
The Bible’s answer is far greater than many expect.
Jesus did not begin His existence in Bethlehem. Before He was born into
this world, He already was. He is the eternal Son of God.
The Gospel of John begins with these words:
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.”
John 1:1, NKJV
A few verses later, John makes clear that “the Word” is Jesus Christ:
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
John 1:14, NKJV
Jesus is not a created being who later became important. He is not an
angel elevated above the others. He is not merely a prophet sent to
speak about God.
He is God the Son.
He existed before the world began. He shared glory with the Father
before creation. All things were made through Him and for Him.
“For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are
on earth, visible and invisible.”
Colossians 1:16, NKJV
The hands that touched the sick were the hands through which the
universe was made. The voice that spoke peace to frightened disciples
was the voice that commanded light to shine in the darkness.
Yet the eternal Son of God willingly entered His creation.
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He
became truly human without ceasing to be truly God.
He grew. He learned. He became tired. He felt hunger and thirst. He wept
at the grave of a friend. He experienced rejection, grief, pain, and
temptation.
But He never sinned.
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our
weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
Hebrews 4:15, NKJV
Jesus is fully God and fully man.
That truth is essential. If He were only a man, He could not save the
world. If He had not truly become human, He could not stand in our
place.
But because He is both God and man, He is the perfect Mediator between
a holy God and sinful humanity.
Jesus did more than teach good principles.
He spoke with an authority unlike anyone around Him. He did not merely
repeat the words of earlier teachers. He declared the truth of God with
His own authority.
He forgave sins.
When Jesus told a paralyzed man that his sins were forgiven, the
religious leaders understood the seriousness of His words. They asked:
“Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Mark 2:7, NKJV
Their question was correct.
Only God can ultimately forgive sin. Jesus was not stealing God’s
authority. He was revealing His identity.
He commanded storms, and the wind obeyed Him.
He cast out demons.
He healed the blind, cleansed lepers, strengthened crippled bodies, and
raised the dead.
These miracles were not performances meant to entertain a crowd. They
were signs. They revealed His compassion, His authority, and His
identity.
Jesus also made claims no ordinary teacher could honestly make.
“He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”
John 14:9, NKJV
“Before Abraham was, I AM.”
John 8:58, NKJV
“I and My Father are one.”
John 10:30, NKJV
Those who heard Him understood what He was claiming. Jesus was not
merely saying that He agreed with God. He was claiming a unique oneness
with the Father and using language that belonged to God Himself.
This is why Jesus cannot be reduced to a nice religious teacher.
Jesus must be received as He truly is: the eternal Son, the promised
Messiah, the Lord.
But Jesus did not come merely to prove who He was.
He came to save.
The Son of God entered a fallen world knowing where His path would lead.
He knew He would be rejected. He knew He would be betrayed, beaten,
mocked, and crucified.
Still, He came.
At the cross, Jesus willingly gave His life for sinners.
“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10, NKJV
Jesus was not helpless before His enemies. He said plainly:
“No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself.”
John 10:18, NKJV
He gave Himself.
On the cross, the sinless Christ bore the judgment of sin. He stood in
the place of guilty people. He paid a debt He did not owe for people who
could never pay it themselves.
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree.”
1 Peter 2:24, NKJV
But Jesus did not remain in the grave.
On the third day, He rose bodily from the dead.
Christian faith does not rest upon a teacher whose life ended in
defeat. It rests upon the risen Lord.
The resurrection declared that death had been conquered, Christ’s
sacrifice had been accepted, and His claims were true.
Jesus appeared to His disciples. He spoke with them. He ate with them.
They touched Him. He was not a vision, memory, or symbol.
He was alive.
Afterward, He ascended into heaven, where He reigns at the right hand of
the Father.
Jesus is not waiting to become King someday.
He is King now.
He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. He intercedes
for His people. He builds His Church. He rules over history, even when
the world appears chaotic and evil seems powerful.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8, NKJV
And He will return.
The Jesus who came first in humility will come again in glory. He will
not return as a helpless infant or a suffering servant. He will return
as Judge and King.
Every wrong will be answered. Every hidden thing will be brought to
light. Death will not have the final word. Evil will not rule forever.
Scripture says:
“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him.”
Revelation 1:7, NKJV
So who is Jesus Christ?
He is the eternal Son of God.
He is the Creator who entered His creation.
He is fully God and fully man.
He is the sinless Savior.
He is the Lamb who died for sinners.
He is the risen Lord.
He is the reigning King.
He is the coming Judge.
And He is the only way to the Father.
The question is not merely whether Jesus once lived. The question is
whether you will receive Him for who He is.
You may admire Him and still remain far from Him. You may know Bible
stories and still refuse His rule. You may speak His name without
trusting His sacrifice.
Jesus does not call you merely to study Him.
He calls you to follow Him.
He calls you to repent, believe, and surrender.
Thomas once stood before the risen Christ and said:
“My Lord and my God!”
John 20:28, NKJV
That is the right response.
Jesus Christ is not merely part of Christianity.
Jesus Christ is Christianity.
Without Him, there is no Gospel, no forgiveness, no reconciliation with
God, and no eternal hope.
But with Him, sinners are forgiven, the lost are found, the guilty are
cleansed, and the dead are promised resurrection.
Jesus Christ is Lord.

Can God Forgive Me?
Perhaps you are not asking this question because you made a few
ordinary mistakes.
Perhaps you have hurt people physically, morally, or emotionally.
Perhaps you have betrayed someone who trusted you, destroyed a
marriage, abandoned your children, stolen from others, lived
dishonestly, abused your authority, surrendered yourself to addiction,
or carried bitterness and hatred for years.
Perhaps there are things in your past that you have never told another
living soul.
Maybe your thoughts sound something like this:
“Can God forgive even such a heathen as me?”
Or perhaps your thoughts are even darker:
“You do not know what I have done. Charles Manson has nothing on me.
Why should I expect forgiveness of any kind?”
If that is where you are, listen carefully.
The Bible does not answer your question by pretending your sins are
small.
Some sins leave scars that never completely disappear in this life.
Some destroy families. Some leave lifelong emotional wounds. Some
result in imprisonment. Some bring broken health, terrible mental
anguish, shattered reputations, financial ruin, or consequences that
continue long after genuine repentance begins.
God never calls evil good.
He never asks us to pretend that sin does not matter.
The cross itself proves how serious sin really is.
Yet the Bible also declares something astonishing.
No one who truly comes to God through Jesus Christ in repentance and
faith is beyond His mercy.
Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.
Not respectable sinners.
Not merely people with a few regrets.
Sinners.
The Apostle Paul had persecuted Christians before Christ saved him.
Looking back upon his former life, he wrote:
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am
chief.”
1 Timothy 1:15, NKJV
King David committed adultery and arranged the death of an innocent
man. When confronted by God, he confessed his sin and cried out for
mercy. God forgave him, although David still lived with painful
earthly consequences.
The criminal hanging beside Jesus had no opportunity to repair his
past or prove himself worthy. He simply turned to Christ in humble
faith.
Jesus answered him:
“Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Luke 23:43, NKJV
God’s forgiveness does not always remove earthly consequences.
A forgiven thief may still serve a prison sentence.
A forgiven drunk driver may still live with debilitating injuries or
the knowledge that another person was permanently harmed.
A forgiven husband or wife may spend years rebuilding trust—or may
never fully recover what was destroyed.
A forgiven criminal may still stand before an earthly judge and
accept lawful punishment.
A forgiven addict may still face severe physical, emotional, or mental
consequences while learning to walk in obedience to Christ.
Repentance often requires confession, restitution where possible,
accepting responsibility, seeking treatment or counseling, protecting
those who were harmed, and accepting the lawful consequences of our
actions.
The Gospel is not an escape from justice.
It is God’s provision of mercy in the midst of justice.
Some earthly payments may be terrible.
They may include prison, destroyed relationships, chronic illness,
disabling injuries, unbearable memories, or consequences that last
for the remainder of this earthly life.
But God is above every prison wall, every diagnosis, every memory, and
every consequence.
None of those things place you beyond the reach of His grace.
God is not surprised by your past.
He knew every sin you would ever commit before you committed it.
He is not shocked when you finally confess the truth.
He is not disgusted by the sinner who comes before Him in honest
submission, with a broken and repentant heart.
Jesus Christ is never unwilling to receive the person who truly comes
to Him in repentance and faith.
Jesus said:
“The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.”
John 6:37, NKJV
That promise still stands.
You do not have to clean yourself up before coming to Christ.
You come because you cannot clean yourself up.
You come because you need a Savior.
True repentance is more than feeling guilty. It is agreeing with God
about your sin, turning away from it, and placing your complete trust
in Jesus Christ—His death on the cross, His burial, and His bodily
resurrection—as your only hope of forgiveness and eternal life.
You may carry memories that haunt you.
You may still have terrible consequences to face.
You may need to confess, apologize, make restitution, seek help,
surrender destructive habits, protect others from further harm, or
accept lawful punishment.
But none of those things prevent God from doing what only He can do.
He can forgive.
He can cleanse.
He can adopt you as His child.
He can give you a new heart and a new life through Jesus Christ.
The greatness of your sin is never greater than the greatness of the
Savior who died and rose again.
If your heart is being stirred today, do not walk away.
Come honestly.
Come humbly.
Come without excuses.
Come to Jesus Christ.
There is still time.

When Someone Has Hurt You Deeply
If any part of that question belongs to you, this article is for you.
God Does Not Ask You to Call Evil Good
The Bible never asks us to pretend that evil is harmless.
Abuse is not merely a misunderstanding, a difficult relationship, or a
personality conflict. When one person deliberately uses violence,
intimidation, sexual exploitation, manipulation, humiliation, threats,
or control against another person, something deeply wrong has happened.
Scripture takes evil seriously because God takes people seriously.
Isaiah warns against those who “call evil good, and good evil”
(Isaiah 5:20, NKJV). Christianity does not require a wounded person to
rename cruelty as love or injustice as something insignificant.
What happened matters. God sees it.
Some abuse happens openly. Much of it happens where no one else can see—in
homes, relationships, families, churches, workplaces, and other places
where trust should have provided safety.
Nothing is hidden from God. That truth may be frightening to the person
who commits evil. To the person who has suffered silently, it can also be
a profound comfort.
God Is Near to the Wounded
“The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
Psalm 34:18, NKJV
God is not repelled by wounded people.
Throughout the Gospels, Jesus moved toward people others ignored,
rejected, condemned, or avoided. He showed compassion to people carrying
grief, shame, sickness, sorrow, and the consequences of living in a
broken world.
He did not demand that suffering people first become emotionally tidy
before coming to Him. Neither must you.
You may come to Christ with questions you cannot answer and wounds you do
not know how to describe. You may come afraid, angry, exhausted,
confused, or uncertain of what you even believe anymore.
God is not threatened by an honest question.
“Where Was God?”
For many survivors, this may be the hardest question of all.
There is no shallow answer worthy of it.
The Bible does not teach that every terrible thing that happens is good.
Human beings are capable of terrible evil, and Scripture never hides that
reality.
Jesus Himself entered a world filled with it. He knew betrayal from
someone close to Him. He was falsely accused, mocked, beaten, humiliated,
and finally crucified.
Christianity therefore does not present God as distant from human
suffering. In Jesus Christ, God entered it.
That does not erase what happened to you. It does mean that when you cry
out to Christ, you are not crying out to One who knows nothing of
betrayal, cruelty, humiliation, or pain.
Forgiveness Does Not Mean Pretending
Few Christian words have been used more carelessly around wounded people
than the word forgiveness.
Jesus clearly teaches forgiveness. Christians are not called to spend
their lives consumed by vengeance. But biblical forgiveness does not
require us to declare evil acceptable, erase the truth, or pretend that
trust has not been shattered.
Forgiveness also does not automatically mean reconciliation.
Trust may be destroyed in a moment and require a long time to rebuild.
Genuine reconciliation requires truth, repentance, and meaningful
change. In some circumstances, reconciliation may eventually become
possible. In others, wisdom may require lasting distance.
Nothing about Christian forgiveness requires a person to return to danger.
“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath;
for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord.”
Romans 12:19, NKJV
Forgiveness places personal vengeance into God's hands. It does not say
that justice is unimportant, and it does not make evil less evil.
Seeking Safety Is Not a Failure of Faith
If you are currently being abused or threatened, seeking safety is not
spiritual weakness.
Sometimes people remain in dangerous situations because someone has
convinced them that leaving demonstrates a lack of faith, violates
Christian submission, or proves that they have failed to forgive.
Scripture does not require you to cooperate with someone who is harming
you.
Getting to a safe place can be an act of wisdom. Telling someone
trustworthy can be an act of courage. Seeking help from responsible
family members, a pastor, counselor, physician, law-enforcement officer,
or other appropriate authority does not mean you have failed God. Nor
does reporting a crime mean you have rejected forgiveness.
If you are in immediate danger, your immediate concern should be getting
somewhere safe and seeking appropriate help.
What Happened to You Is Not Who You Are
Abuse has a terrible ability to change the way a person sees himself or
herself.
After enough fear, manipulation, blame, or humiliation, a person may
begin to believe that the abuse was somehow deserved, that he or she
should have stopped it, that no one would believe the truth, or that the
damage can never be overcome. Some even begin to wonder whether God
Himself must be disappointed in them.
Those thoughts can feel overwhelmingly true. They are not the final
authority over your life.
The person who harmed you does not have the authority to determine your
value. Your worst experience does not get to name you, and your deepest
wound does not become your identity.
The Gospel announces something greater.
God created human beings with dignity. Sin has brought terrible
destruction into the world, including the terrible things people do to
one another. Jesus Christ entered that broken world to save sinners and
redeem what sin has devastated.
At the cross, He bore sin. Through His resurrection, death itself was
defeated.
And to everyone who comes to Him in faith, Christ offers forgiveness,
reconciliation with God, eternal life, and a new identity that no human
abuser has the power to take away.
Healing May Take Time
Faith in Christ does not mean every painful memory immediately
disappears.
Some wounds heal slowly. There may be long stretches of progress followed
by a day when a memory, a voice, a place, or an unexpected moment makes
the past feel close again.
That does not mean God has abandoned you.
Christian hope is not the promise that believers will never struggle. It
is the promise that suffering is not sovereign and evil is not eternal.
The person who hurt you does not have the final word. Even death does not
have the final word.
Jesus Christ does.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no
more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for
the former things have passed away.”
Revelation 21:4, NKJV
Christianity ultimately points beyond survival. It points toward
redemption.
Look at Jesus
Perhaps what happened to you has made faith difficult. Perhaps someone
claiming to represent God was the very person who wounded you. Scripture
may even have been twisted and used against you.
If so, separating that person's behavior from the character of Jesus
Christ may take time.
But do not judge Christ by the person who misrepresented Him.
Look instead at Jesus Himself. See how He treated vulnerable people, how
He confronted hypocrisy, how He showed compassion to those who were
suffering, and how seriously He treated sin and injustice.
Then look at the cross and the empty tomb.
Jesus does not ask you to pretend your story did not happen. He invites
you to bring the whole truth of it to Him.
You May Come to Christ
If you have never trusted Jesus Christ, you can come to Him now.
The Gospel is not an invitation to become religious enough to deserve
God's love. It is the good news that Jesus Christ died for sinners and
rose again, and that those who turn to Him in faith can be forgiven and
reconciled to God.
And if you already belong to Christ but feel wounded, distant, confused,
or angry, you may still come honestly before Him. You do not need another
salvation. You need what every child of God needs: permission to cry out
to the Father who already knows the truth.
There Is Still Time
There is still time to seek help.
There is still time to tell the truth.
There is still time to step away from danger.
There is still time to begin healing.
There is still time to discover that the person who hurt you does not
own the rest of your story.
And above all, there is still time to come to Jesus Christ.
What was done to you matters. But it does not get the final word.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?
Suffering is easier to discuss from a distance.
It is different when the hospital room is yours, the grave belongs to
someone you love, the betrayal has your name attached to it, or the
prayer you have repeated for months still seems unanswered.
At that point, “Why does God allow suffering?” is no longer merely a
philosophical question. It becomes personal.
Why did God allow this?
Does He see me?
Does He care?
Can I still trust Him?
The Bible does not dismiss those questions. It does not command hurting
people to pretend that pain is painless. It speaks honestly about grief,
disease, injustice, death, fear, and loss. It also tells us truths about
God that remain true even when life becomes difficult to understand.
God Is Sovereign Over All, Including Suffering
Nothing takes God by surprise.
He never learns bad news. He is never caught unprepared. No disaster
forces Him to abandon His purposes or invent a new plan.
“I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.”
Isaiah 45:7, NKJV
This verse does not teach that God commits moral evil. Scripture is clear
that God is holy, righteous, and good. It teaches that He remains
sovereign over nations, judgment, peace, prosperity, and calamity.
Nothing exists outside His authority.
That truth may raise another difficult question: If God is sovereign,
why does He permit suffering at all?
The Bible does not give us a complete explanation for every individual
tragedy. It does tell us that suffering does not mean God has lost
control.
We may be confused. God is not.
We may be frightened. God is not.
We may not see what comes next. God already does.
God’s Ways Are Higher Than Ours
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:8–9, NKJV
Human understanding is limited. We see one moment, one life, and one
small portion of history. God sees the whole.
That does not mean we should use these verses to silence someone who is
grieving. “God’s ways are higher” should never become a cold answer
thrown at a broken heart.
It should produce humility.
Faith does not require us to claim that we understand what God has not
explained. Sometimes the honest answer is:
I do not know why God allowed this particular suffering.
The book of Job teaches this powerfully. Job lost his children, wealth,
health, and position. His friends confidently insisted that his
suffering must have been caused by some hidden personal sin. They were
wrong.
Job never received a detailed explanation for everything that had
happened to him. Instead, he encountered the greatness, wisdom, and
authority of God.
There are times when God reveals His purposes. There are also times when
He asks us to trust His character while the reason remains hidden.
We Live in a Fallen World
The Bible begins with a world that God called “very good” (Genesis 1:31).
Human beings were created to know God, love Him, obey Him, and live under
His good authority. But humanity rebelled. Sin entered the world, and
with sin came death, separation, corruption, and disorder.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death
through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”
Romans 5:12, NKJV
The effects of the Fall reach beyond individual bad choices. Human bodies
age and become ill. Relationships fracture. Nations wage war. People
exploit one another. Creation itself is marked by decay and suffering.
“For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth
pangs together until now.”
Romans 8:22, NKJV
This means suffering is not always a direct punishment aimed at one
particular person.
Jesus made that clear.
When His disciples met a man who had been blind from birth, they asked
whether the man or his parents had sinned and caused his condition.
Jesus rejected both proposed explanations and said that the works of God
would be revealed in him (John 9:1–3).
When people told Jesus about the Galileans whom Pilate had killed, He
rejected the idea that they were worse sinners than other Galileans.
Jesus then pointed to a separate tragedy—the eighteen people killed when
the tower of Siloam fell—and said they were not worse offenders than the
other people living in Jerusalem. In both cases, He warned His hearers
of their own need to repent (Luke 13:1–5).
We should therefore never look at someone’s cancer, disability, poverty,
bereavement, accident, or tragedy and pretend that we know what private
sin caused it.
Sometimes people suffer because of their own choices.
Sometimes they suffer because of another person’s cruelty, negligence,
violence, or betrayal.
Sometimes they suffer through disease, aging, accidents, or natural
disasters.
Sometimes they suffer for doing what is right.
Sometimes the immediate reason remains unknown.
But all suffering occurs within a world that is no longer as God
originally made it.
Human Sin Causes Enormous Suffering
Much of the world’s suffering comes directly from human rebellion
against God.
War, murder, abuse, exploitation, abandonment, corruption, oppression,
adultery, hatred, and greed are not abstract ideas. They leave real
victims behind.
God has given human beings genuine moral responsibility. Love, loyalty,
courage, obedience, generosity, and sacrifice have meaning because our
choices are real. But real choices can also be used for terrible evil.
God’s temporary permission of human evil is not His approval of it.
He condemns injustice. He commands people to protect the vulnerable. He
establishes moral accountability. He warns that every person will answer
to Him.
“For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14, NKJV
No hidden cruelty will remain hidden forever.
No unpunished crime has escaped God’s notice.
No victim has been forgotten.
Earthly justice may fail. God’s final justice will not.
God’s Mercy Has Not Ended
Suffering reveals the brokenness of the world, but it does not mean
God’s mercy has disappeared.
Jeremiah wrote during a period of terrible national destruction:
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22–23, NKJV
These words were not written by someone whose life was easy. They came
from a man who had witnessed devastation and grief.
Even in a fallen world, God continues to show mercy.
Every breath is mercy.
Every act of genuine love reflects His goodness.
Every meal, sunrise, friendship, answered prayer, moment of comfort, and
opportunity to repent is undeserved kindness.
This does not make suffering unimportant. It reminds us that suffering
is not the only reality present in the world. God has not withdrawn all
goodness from His creation.
More importantly, He has not withheld the greatest expression of His
mercy: His Son.
Suffering Can Be a Wake-Up Call
Suffering often destroys the illusion that we are self-sufficient.
When health fails, plans collapse, or death comes near, we are reminded
that we are not in control. We are mortal. We need help beyond ourselves.
“In my distress I cried to the Lord, And He heard me.”
Psalm 120:1, NKJV
God can use suffering to turn a person’s attention back toward Him.
It may expose sin we have ignored.
It may reveal relationships that need repair.
It may break pride.
It may deepen compassion.
It may teach perseverance.
It may awaken someone who has lived for years as though God did not
exist.
But we must be careful here. We should not presume to know that every
tragedy was sent to teach a particular person a particular lesson. Nor
should we tell a suffering person that their pain exists only because
they failed to listen to God.
Scripture allows us to say that God can use suffering.
It does not give us permission to pretend that we understand His exact
purpose in every case.
God Can Bring Good from Evil Without Calling Evil Good
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love
God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28, NKJV
The verse does not say that everything that happens is good.
Cancer is not good.
Abuse is not good.
Murder is not good.
Betrayal is not good.
Death is an enemy.
But God is so wise and powerful that evil cannot prevent Him from
accomplishing His purposes.
Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused,
and imprisoned. Years later, he told them:
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.”
Genesis 50:20, NKJV
Joseph did not call their evil good. He said God overruled their evil
intentions and used the outcome to preserve many lives.
God can bring courage from hardship, compassion from grief, ministry
from wounds, repentance from failure, and faith from desperation.
Still, not every painful event will make complete sense in this lifetime.
Some wounds remain wounds. Some questions remain unanswered.
The Christian hope is not that every tragedy will eventually feel
acceptable.
It is that evil will not have the final word.
The Bible Gives Us Permission to Grieve
Biblical faith is not emotional denial.
Job grieved.
Jeremiah wept.
David cried out in anguish.
Habakkuk asked why God seemed silent.
Jesus wept at the grave of Lazarus.
“How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?”
Psalm 13:1, NKJV
These are not the words of unbelief pretending to be faith. They are
the words of faith speaking honestly to God.
You may grieve before Him.
You may tell Him that you are angry, confused, frightened, or exhausted.
You do not need to hide your pain behind religious language.
God already knows what is in your heart.
Honest grief is not the opposite of faith. Sometimes it is faith crying
out to the only One who can truly hear.
God Did Not Remain Distant from Human Suffering
Christianity’s deepest answer to suffering is not merely an explanation.
It is Jesus Christ.
God the Son entered the world He had made. He took on human flesh. He
experienced hunger, exhaustion, grief, rejection, betrayal, injustice,
humiliation, physical agony, and death.
“A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.”
Isaiah 53:3, NKJV
Jesus wept with grieving people.
He touched the diseased.
He welcomed the rejected.
He defended the vulnerable.
He showed compassion to the guilty.
And at the cross, He willingly bore the judgment that sinners deserve.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5, NKJV
At the cross, God did not explain suffering from a safe distance.
He entered it.
Jesus was not helplessly trapped. He gave Himself willingly.
He suffered for our sins so that those who trust Him could be forgiven,
reconciled to God, and given eternal life.
The cross shows us that God does not take evil lightly. Sin is so serious
that the Son of God bore its judgment.
The cross also shows us that God’s love is not theoretical. Jesus
suffered to rescue people who had rebelled against Him.
The Resurrection Changes the Ending
Jesus truly died.
But death did not defeat Him.
On the third day, He rose bodily from the grave. His resurrection is
God’s declaration that sin, death, and evil will not prevail.

Christianity does not promise that believers will escape all suffering
in this life.
Jesus told His followers that they would face trouble.
But He also promised that suffering is temporary and His victory is
eternal.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not
worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

For those who belong to Christ, this world is not the final home.
There is a day coming when God will judge evil, raise the dead, restore
creation, and dwell with His people.
“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no
more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain.”
Revelation 21:4, NKJV
This is not wishful thinking. It is the promised future secured by the
resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Can You Trust God While You Are Suffering?
You may not know why God allowed the pain you are carrying.
You may never receive a full explanation in this life.
But you can know what God has revealed about Himself.
He is sovereign.
He is holy.
He is just.
He is merciful.
He sees the brokenhearted.
He judges evil.
He entered human suffering in Jesus Christ.
He died for sinners.
He rose from the dead.
He promises to make all things right.
Your pain does not prove that God has abandoned you.
Your questions do not frighten Him.
Your grief does not place you beyond His compassion.
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
Psalm 34:18, NKJV
You may need help from people as well. Seeking medical treatment,
counseling, pastoral care, legal protection, or emergency assistance is
not a failure of faith. Forgiveness does not require you to remain in
danger or permit continuing abuse. God often provides help through other
people.
Do not carry suffering alone.
Jesus Invites You to Come
The greatest need of every human being is reconciliation with God.
Our suffering is real, but so is our sin. We have all broken God’s
commands, rejected His authority, and fallen short of His glory.
We cannot save ourselves through good deeds, religion, or sincerity.
But Jesus has done what we could never do.
He lived without sin.
He died in the place of sinners.
He rose from the dead.
He now offers forgiveness and eternal life to everyone who turns from
sin and trusts Him.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest.”
Matthew 11:28, NKJV
He does not promise that every earthly burden will disappear immediately.
He promises something greater: His presence, forgiveness, peace with God,
strength to endure, and eternal life.
You are free to reject Him.
You are also free to come.
He will not force your trust. Love does not compel a false response. But
He genuinely invites you.
You may come honestly, even if your faith feels small.
You may say:
“Lord Jesus, I do not understand everything I have suffered. I confess
that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I believe You died for my
sins and rose from the dead. Please forgive me, receive me, and teach
me to trust You. I place my life in Your hands. Amen.”
The prayer itself does not save you. Jesus saves. The prayer is simply
one way of expressing sincere repentance and faith in Him.
We may not know why God permitted every sorrow.
But we know that He is not indifferent.
He sees.
He cares.
He judges rightly.
He draws near to the brokenhearted.
And in Jesus Christ, He has opened the way from suffering and death into
forgiveness, resurrection, and everlasting life.
The wounds of this world are real.
But they are not eternal.
Jesus Christ is.

Is the Bible Trustworthy?
The Bible makes enormous claims.
It tells us who God is, why humanity is broken, what sin has done, what
happens after death, and how sinners can be reconciled to their Creator
through Jesus Christ.
Those claims deserve an honest question:
Can the Bible be trusted?
The answer is yes.
The Bible is not a damaged religious relic, a collection of legends, or
a message lost through centuries of copying. It is the Word of God,
given through human authors, preserved through history, and faithfully
delivered to us as God intended.
God Is the Author of Scripture
The Bible was written through real people, in real places, during real
periods of history. Its writers had different backgrounds,
personalities, experiences, and styles.
Yet behind them stood one ultimate Author.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.”
2 Timothy 3:16, NKJV
The word “inspiration” does not mean that the biblical writers merely
felt religious or creative. Scripture came from God.
“Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit did not erase the personalities of the writers. He
worked through them so that what they wrote was truly their writing and,
at the same time, truly the Word of God.
Ultimately, the Holy Spirit gets all authority for the Bible we have
today.
He inspired it.
He preserved it.
He guided its recognition among God’s people.
The Bible is as God intended, period.
The Bible Has Been Faithfully Preserved
The Scriptures were copied and carried across centuries, languages,
nations, persecution, war, and cultural change.
Yet their message has not been lost.
God did not inspire His Word and then abandon it to destruction or
confusion.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

“The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”

The Bible available to us today faithfully communicates what God gave.
There are differences in wording among trustworthy translations because
languages do not always match one another word for word. Translators
must make careful decisions about grammar, sentence structure, emphasis,
and how best to express the original meaning clearly.
Those differences do not mean we have different Bibles.
They mean faithful translators are working to communicate the same
God-given message accurately and understandably.
Mainstream translations such as the NKJV, ESV, NRSV, and others reliably
give readers the Word of God.
The Bible Does Not Contain True Errors or Contradictions
The Bible is truthful because God is truthful.
“God is not a man, that He should lie.”

“Your word is truth.”

Some passages require careful reading. Some accounts emphasize different
details. Some statements must be understood according to their historical
setting, literary form, language, and immediate context.
But difficulty is not the same as error.
Different perspectives are not contradictions.
The Bible does not affirm and deny the same truth in the same sense.
It speaks truthfully in everything it teaches.
The Bible Is Rooted in Real History
The Bible does not begin with “once upon a time.”
It speaks of real nations, rulers, cities, families, wars, journeys,

grieving, strengthen the weak, and lead people to salvation.
